Gal Gadot to become new face of Gucci

Israeli model and actress Gal Gadot, who will be starring as Wonder Woman in the upcoming Zack Snyder movie «Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice», is the new face of Gucci Fragrances, according to Haaretz. «Guess who is the new face of @Gucci Fragrances?» Gadot posted on her Facebook page this week. «Congratulations!» wrote one of her Facebook followers. «You are very pretty! They made a great choice when they chose you!».

Gadot, 29, was Miss Israel in 2004 and represented Israel in that year’s Miss Universe contest. She has also played Gisele Yashar in the «Fast & Furious» film franchise and is a model for the clothing label Castro. She is married to hotel owner Yaron Varsano, with whom she has a 3-year-old daughter, Alma.

Before Gadot became the new face of Gucci, Israeli director Shay Kanot, who directed Gadot in the Israeli comedy «Kicking Out Shoshana», in which she plays a mobster’s girlfriend, predicted the model and actress would be a beautiful, athletic and charming superhero. «I really see her as a Wonder Woman», he said in 2013, as Gadot finished filming her first Israeli feature.

In July, Gadot sparked a heated online debate about the summer’s fighting between Israel and Hamas when she posted a Facebook photo of herself and her daughter lighting Shabbat candles, accompanied by a message saying she was sending her «love and prayers to my fellow Israeli citizens. Especially to all the boys and girls who are risking their lives protecting my country against the horrific acts conducted by Hamas, who are hiding like cowards behind women and children».
