Sunday, April 12th leading salons throughout New York City including the new Serge Normant at John Frieda will join with partners nationwide for the annual HAIRraising Cut-a-Thon to help raise a million dollars for sick children in need. Since 2010, this charitable initiative has benefited Boston Children’s Hospital, the country’s number one pediatric hospital and research center. Throughout the day, participating salons will provide haircuts at a discounted price and donate 100% of the proceeds to Boston Children’s Hospital’s vital work.

Founded by longtime business partners and beauty industry leaders John Frieda and Gail Federici, HAIRraising unites salons to support the life-saving care, breakthrough cures, and cutting-edge treatments that bring the world’s sickest children to Boston Children’s Hospital. This year, HAIRraising has recruited even more participating salons to take part in this worthy cause.

Frieda and Federici turned to their industry for aid, not just due to their extensive experience, but also because of the uniquely generous, giving nature of the salon and hair care community. “We’ve had so much support from some of the biggest names in the business”, Frieda says. “We’re consistently overwhelmed and amazed by the level of commitment this effort receives from salon owners and stylists. It’s a special community, coming together for a special cause, and for that we are very grateful”. As always, Frieda’s own New York based salon, Serge Normant at John Frieda, will be offering Cut-a-Thon services at all locations.

To take part in this lifesaving, one-day event visit hairraising.org to locate a participating salon near you. All associated salons are currently taking appointments for April 12th for haircuts or blowouts specially priced at just $25-$80. Stop by the Serge Normant at John Frieda Salon to visit the Big T NYC tea bar for a cup or jar of Couture Tea. 100% of the profits will benefit HAIRraising.
