The Kettal group has supplied the Regent Porto hotel in the town of Tivat — on the Bay of Kotor in southwestern Montenegro — with a broad spectrum of its products. This exclusive hotel, which faces the sea in the heart of this luxurious, sporty port town on the Adriatic coast, boasts seductive rooms and residences, designed by interior decorator Tino Zervudachi of the Parisian studio MHZ. The entire hotel is inspired by palaces in the Italian Renaissance style, and pays homage to the 400 years in which this stretch of the Adriatic coast was under Venetian rule. Each room boasts an impressive view of beautiful Boka Bay and the majestic mountain ranges around it.

This spectacular establishment has been embellished with pieces supplied by the Kettal group’s three brands — Kettal, Triconfort and Hugonet. These now grace the hotel’s communal areas — dining rooms, terraces, lobbies, corridors and relaxation areas. They include Kettal’s Park Life collection of chairs, sofas and tables designed by Jasper Morrison; Triconfort’s Triconfort 1950, Riba and Hardy collections, and Hugonet’s Victoria collection.

Founded in 1966, the Kettal group is one of Spain’s leading outdoor furniture manufacturers. The globally ambitious company Kettal was founded in 1964. The idea of setting it up came to Manuel Alorda, who’s married to a Dutch woman, when he noticed once on a trip to Germany that there was hardly any outdoor furniture available on the Spanish market. Today, 47 years later, the Kettal group (Kettal acquired the brands Hugonet, Triconfort and Evolutif in 2000), is one of the most internationally renowned companies in its sector. A milestone in the company’s history was the launch in 2005 of Kettal’s Maia collection, designed by Patricia Urquiola. Its runaway success garnered the company international recognition and prestige.

It exports 80 per cent of its goods, which grace iconic projects all over the world, to over 60 countries. Recent, notable examples of these projects include such exclusive hotels and resorts as the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Dubai, W Doha Hotel & Residences’ La Spiga restaurant, Yas Viceroy in Abu Dhabi, Paris’s Hôtel le Cinq Codet, the Velaa Private Island resort at Malé on the Maldives as well as such cruise liners as Azamara Club Cruises’ Azamara Journey.

The new Velaa Private Island resort is a unique combination of internal and outdoor spaces where you can stay in a bungalow or in a romantic villa, each with its own secluded swimming pool, where you can enjoy the privacy, comfort and luxury offered by this exotic location — a paradise for lovers of diving, including scuba-diving. The architecture studio which designed the hotel complex chose Kettal’s Maia and Vieques collections, both designed byPatricia Urquiola, and Landscape range, created by Kettal’s in-house design team, to embellish it. Now armchairs, chairs, sofas, deckchairs, tables and swing chairs from all three lines grace the glamorous venue.
