This Home has a Captivating Charm

Platinum Luxury Auctions, a real estate auction firm specializing in the sale of multimillion-dollar properties for high-net worth individuals, has announced the August 21, 2015 auction offering for an elegant home within the Pierson Lakes community in Sterlington, New York, a small hamlet in Rockland County. Previously offered for $5 million, the lakefront estate will now be sold to the highest bidder at or above the auction’s reserve price of $1 million. Platinum is conducting the sale in cooperation with listing broker Richard Ellis of Ellis Sotheby’s International Realty in New York.

The residence offers the privacy and serenity of a suburban lifestyle, while being located just 45 minutes from New York City. «This estate is a wonderful escape for those who appreciate the natural beauty of the northeast, but don’t want to sacrifice proximity toManhattan,» said Trayor Lesnock, Platinum’s president. «When I first visited the property, I was coming off a busy few days in the city, and it was literally and metaphorically a giant breath of fresh air to arrive on site. It’s a beautiful area.»

Custom built by its current owners in 1997, the home was designed by Kenneth R. Nadler Architects, drawing inspiration from the owner’s childhood home in the United Kingdom that was built by the infamous Adam Brothers, Scottish architects famous for their 18th-century neoclassical style and design. The welcoming and bright interiors also marry Georgian and Palladian architectural styles, resulting in an ambiance that is elegant without feeling stuffy.

The estate boasts over 10,000 interior square feet and three living levels, with eight bedrooms, seven full and one-half baths, and is situated on nearly seven acres of lakefront property.
