#HMBALMAINATION Army
There is no doubt Olivier Rousteing is the man of the year as far as fashion goes.
You may recognize him from selfies taken by Kim K or Rosie Huntington, for his perfectly sculpted cheeks, his T shaped designs, or maybe, you are one of his 1.4k followers on Instagram. There is no doubt Olivier Rousteing is the man of the year as far as fashion goes. By joining forces with h&m, creative director for the French haute fashion house Balmain, goes way further than front row, and captures the Balmain essence in a subway car for this capsule collaboration available in stores November 5th.
From Las Vegas, where the Billboard Awards took place in may, Olivier announced his next project to the world and invited us to join the “ #HMBALMAINNATION ARMY”. Kendall Jenner and Jourdann Dunn, two of this beloved muses, gave us a sneak peak of what the collection will look like.
The velvet, dense beading and metallic threading all unveil a baroque-style collection that is more Balmain than ever. Waist-cinching belts, thigh-high boots and chandelier earrings are some of the accessories that also scream out Balmain at it´s loudest.
Nicki Minaj and Kanye West have mentioned the haute fashion house in some of their songs and Kidi Kudi introduced “Balmain Jeans” to all of us. Olivier was sure he had achieved something new by then but still went further and made Rihanna the face of the spring- summer collection in 2014.
There is no doubt that the heir of the elegant legacy that Pierre Balmain left has turned all tables. Olivier was the man at the top at 25 and has taken luxury to a whole nother level ever since. He measures his success in likes and has turned exclusivity into a social adventure.
This is what we call “Balmanía” in The Luxonomist, a true revelation led by a strong and independent woman. A twist in fashion, that is discovering new frontiers, by leaving tradition and stereotypes behind to the beat of RnB.
