It’s Awards Season for Ferrari!
Stunning upset as Italy’s leading sparkling wine is named “Sparkling Producer of the Year”.
Ferrari Trentodoc has achieved a stunning upset in the world of sparkling wine. In a milestone achievement, Ferrari was named “Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year” at The Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2015, besting Champagne houses Charles Heidsieck and Louis Roederer for top honors. And there’s more good news, Wine Enthusiast has announced today that Ferrari has been named “Best European Winery” in the celebrated 2015 Wine Star Awards.
Cultivated on the alpine slopes of the Trentino region since 1902, Ferrari wines are sustainably made according to the stringent standards of the Trento D.O.C. regulations which requires a secondary bottle fermentation.
Ferrari was the first Italian producer to plant Chardonnay vineyards, and has consistently challenged the status quo in sparkling wine through uncompromising standards. Long recognized for excellence by the international community, Ferrari has proven decisively that a non-Champagne sparkling wine can be “best-in-class.”
No stranger to the red carpet – or awards season – Ferrari Trentodoc wines have been the toast of Italy for years and are a particular favorite of fashion and cinema stars. The wines have been poured at the Oscars, the Venice Film Festival, and at the Costume Institute Gala parties in New York. Most recently, Ferrari was served at the Governor’s Ball at the 2015 Primetime Emmys.
Established in northern Italy’s Trentino region over a century ago by Giulio Ferrari, Ferrari crafts bottle-fermented sparkling wines according to the regulations of Trento D.O.C. The technique is similar to the one used by the finest Champagne houses, but is profoundly Italian in craftsmanship and reputation. Ferrari is a family-run company, led by the third generation of the Lunelli family.
